Travelers Gate & Dagger and Coin

Recently finished Travelers gate. Reminded me of Night Angel. Easy read, not too complex, lots of action with a boy learning to use powers he doesn't understand but being very good at it. I was pleasantly surprised, as I did not expect much from the series. I would recommend it!

I am currently reading Dagger and Coin. On book1 right now. It seems pretty slow. There has not been any major fights or battles, at least nothing of note. There doesn't appear yet to be anything special within the world besides the guy from the prologue who is now the leader of some acting troupe. I'm withholding judgement for now. If it doesn't have a signifcant boost towards the end in activity and intensity, I'm not sure whether I will go for book2. We'll see!
